Resource efficiency and circularity

Adopting a circular business model is crucial for BEWI to improve resource efficiency, and to reduce GHG emissions and potential negative environmental impacts. Increasing use of recycled raw materials and a focus on the development of re-useable products are key for BEWI’s efforts to increase its circularity.

RE-extruder Etten-Leur

BEWI’s extruder line in Etten-Leur has an annual capacity of up to 25,000 tonnes of EPS. The new line can produce both grey and white EPS, using either virgin or recycled feedstock – or a combination.

Circular collection materials

Through BEWI’s Circular division, we collect used EPS from all over Europe, securing the feedstock we need and making it possible for us to close the loop for full circularity. BEWI has committed to collecting 45 000 tonnes of
used EPS for recycling by the end of 2024, and 60 000 tonnes by the end of 2026.
