Certified Recycled EPS

EPS food packaging is useful to protect food and reducing food waste. But to protect our planet, we need to reduce consumption of natural resources, as well as reuse and recycle more. We need to transition to a circular economy – and at BEWI, we lead the change.

Customer benefits

By using Certified Recycled EPS, we can reduce consumption of natural resources, by recycling more, and contribute to mitigate climate change.

How does BEWI’s circular model work?

From waste to resources

At BEWI, we have invested heavily in circular capabilities for many years. We collect more EPS for recycling than any other insulation company in Europe, using the proven mechanical recycling process to convert used EPS waste into new raw material. Our process meets all legal requirements, giving our customers the benefits of reducing their CO2 emissions. Unlike other companies, we do it inhouse.

How it works

BEWI’s Certified Recycled EPS is certified by a 3rd party, securing the allocation of raw material to the industries and products where they are best suited. The performance and quality of the material is maintained, while the CO₂ footprint is significantly reduced.

A mix of recycled and virgin feedstock is used, and the certification secures that a corresponding volume of recycled material is tracked throughout the total process.

So what?

Through this recycling process, BEWI is able to offer Certified Recycled EPS, both as raw materials – and in end-products suited for food – and pharmaceutical packaging.

It is really packaging with the benefits from using recycled material with identical properties to using virgin materials.
Good for the environment – and good for you. Nice right?
