Jackoboard® Lignin

Construction board made with bio-based and recycled raw materials

The new Jackoboard® Lignin product generation features an innovative core made from extruded lignin polymer foam. The core is produced using lignin, a bio-based raw material, together with recycled material. The board is designed for interior construction and renovation applications, combining the established functionality of Jackoboard® products with a core material based on bio-based and recycled raw materials.

The use of lignin as a raw material is a key material characteristic of the Jackoboard® Lignin core. For customers looking to consider material composition and resource use when selecting construction products, Jackoboard® Lignin offers a construction-board solution with clearly defined material characteristics.

Lignin: Nature’s strength

The core of the construction board contains the biopolymer lignin. Lignin has long been underutilised as a sustainable raw material. It is abundantly produced as a by product of the paper industry during the breakdown of cellulose.

Lignin is a complex organic polymer pre-dominantly found in the cell walls of plants. It plays a vital role in forming the supporting tissue that provides plants their rigidity and structural strength.

In addition to lignin, the construction board core contains only recycled material. The use of recycled materials conserves valuable resources and significantly reduces the CO2 footprint of our products.

Outstanding Features

The new JACKOBOARD® LIGNIN construction board sets standards for environmentally conscious building, combining sustainability with top product quality.
