To Gothenburg and back
In the middle of central Gothenburg an extensive road project is under way.BEWiSynbra are providing the construction company, PEAB with EPS-blocks for road filling.
The project includes lowering the highway E45, six meters under Gothenburg. The new tunnel is not just a car tunnel but the foundation for future residential areas and is, therefore, an essential part of Gothenburg’s urban development.
EPS-blocks is often used in the construction of roads and bridges. By building up the road bank with EPS instead of gravel, the load on underground soil can be significantly reduced, which provides more stability and limit settlements.
EPS is also 100% recyclable which means that PEAB collects every little piece of spillage or leftover material. And bring it back to our production plant – to be turned into new EPS products. It’s recycling as it is meant to be and the kind of closed-loop that will be standard for all our products in the future.
