French building federation relies on Jackodur Atlas from BEWI

Thermal insulation with Jackodur Atlas

The academy for future building professionals meets high standards for energy efficiency - and playful architecture

The French federation of building craft and other activities, Compagnons du Tour de France, chose Jackodur Atlas, a floor slab system of XPS (expanded polystyrene), for the extension of their training and education facility. The result is a building with high energy efficiency and playful architecture.

A modern facility for future specialists

In Mouchard, France, Compagnons du Tour de France runs a unique institute, Institut Européen de Formation, training future professionals in sustainable construction and building techniques. The institute is the only vocational academy in France to implement an exclusive concept combining theoretical learning and practical training.

Jackodur Atlas - a solid foundation

With growing demand for its renowned training concept, the institute recently expanded its facility. To meet the high standards for energy efficiency, the Jackodur Atlas floor slab system from BEWI was chosen. The system forms a solid foundation for the building and spans an area of 516 square meters.

Made from XPS (extruded polystyrene), Jackodur Atlas plays a pivotal role in achieving the passive house standard, offering excellent thermal insulation and moisture resistance. Its prefabricated edging elements and ease of installation also ensure efficient construction processes

Energy efficiency and creative architecture in harmony

The building consists of a main body of wooden frames that connects three striking units: a straight cube and two angled cubes on either side, which give the complex a playful feel, reflecting the institute’s image. Now, the Institut Européen de Formation can train more future specialists in a modern facility meeting high energy standards.
