Made with 45 per cent recycled material

BEWI introduces Terra XPS
XPS floor slabs and roof insulation

Looking for a way to reduce your carbon footprint while ensuring top product quality?

BEWI presents Terra XPS (extruded polystyrene), insulating boards made with up to 45 per cent recycled material. The innovation demonstrates the company’s effort to offer products with a lower carbon footprint, aligning with the emissions reduction targets in the building and construction industry. It also supports BEWI’s ambitions to become circular, including increase the use of recycled materials in its product offering.

Reduce carbon footprint - not quality or functionality

“We work to always offer our customers innovating and circular solutions”, says Karl Erik Olesen, EVP and Head of BEWI’s downstream segments.

“Thanks to a growing collection volume of used EPS last year, we were able to increase the use of recycled feedstock in own production by 77 per cent. This results in a broader range of products with lower CO2 emissions, including Terra XPS and GreenLine EPS, which allows customers to reduce their carbon footprint and helps them reach their climate reduction targets.”

More recycled products in pipeline

Terra XPS boards are designed for constructions such as floor slabs and flat roofs, ensuring excellent energy-efficiency. The use of recycled feedstock results in up to 28 per cent reduction in CO2 emissions, while maintaining the product properties of conventional XPS, such as high compressive strength, moisture resistance and thermal insulation, which protects against heat and frost.

“Terra XPS offers a practical solution to environmental challenges without compromising quality and functionality. In BEWI, we have an ambition to continuously increase the share of recycled content in our product offerings. More solutions are already in the pipeline, reflecting our commitment to deliver products that set standards for future advancements in the industry”, Olesen ends.
