BEWI introduces GreenLine Super EPS, insulating boards made from recycled grey EPS

Recycled insulation for the building and construction industry

BEWI continues to develop its range of recycled products, helping customers reach their strategic goals

BEWI is expanding its GreenLine range with insulating boards made from up to 100 per cent recycled grey EPS (expanded polystyrene). GreenLine Super EPS supports the emission reduction targets in the building and construction industry, as well as BEWI’s own ambition to become fully circular, including increase the use of recycled materials in its product offering.

Better insulation - lower carbon footprint

“GreenLine Super EPS reduces CO₂ emissions by up to 52 per cent compared to standard grey EPS, while maintaining the same technical properties and insulation performance”, says Karl Erik Olesen, Chief Operating Officer of BEWI’s Downstream segments.

EPS is a well proven material used to insulate buildings, improving energy efficiency. Grey EPS includes graphite, providing better insulation values compared to traditional white EPS. The use of recycled feedstock in GreenLine Super EPS results in a significant reduction in CO2 emissions, without compromising product properties such as high compressive strength, low water absorption and thermal insulation.

Expanding the offering of recycled solutions

BEWI’s GreenLine product range is part of the company’s efforts to increase circularity. Through the Circular division, the company collects and recycles used EPS, with an annual run rate of 40 000 tonnes. This enables the development and offering of more products made with recycled materials and a lower carbon footprint.

“GreenLine Super EPS reflects our commitment to combining resource efficiency with high-quality building performance,” Olesen adds. “We will continue to expand our GreenLine range with solutions supporting our customers in reaching their strategic goals.”
