Sorting, compacting, recycling

In Portugal, BEWI collaborates with TTM Logistic, one of the largest logistic companies in Lisbon, to take care of all TTM’s packaging waste. BEWI collects all the various packaging materials, sorts it – and then compacts and recycles the EPS into new raw material so that it can be used again.

In addition to the recycling efforts, BEWI works closely with TTM Logistic to implement better practices throughout their supply chain. This partnership includes educating employees about the importance of waste separation and proper disposal methods, ensuring that recyclable materials are efficiently processed.

“Compacting the material will significantly reduce the volume and optimise the transportation”, says Pedro Luis, Managing Director of BEWI Circular Portugal

BEWI’s commitment to innovation and the circular economy drives the introduction of new practices that facilitate collection and enhance recycling. BEWI ensures that the recycled pellets of EPS, rGPPS (recycled general-purpose polystyrene), can be reintegrated into the production cycle of new packaging and insulation materials.

Overall, BEWI’s collaboration with TTM Logistic exemplifies a forward-thinking approach to waste management, demonstrating that businesses can thrive while prioritising environmental stewardship and supporting the circular economy.
