As the senior technology manager in the BEWI Circular Division you will work closely with our operations teams to improve the production of recycled general-purpose polystyrene for internal and external sales. You report directly to VP Operations.

BEWI Circular recycled general-purpose polystyrene, is primarily composed of post-consumer recycled (PCR) material as part of our commitment to environmental sustainability.

By repurposing post-consumer materials that would otherwise end up in landfills or incinerators, we contribute to a more sustainable and resource-efficient future.

Our production practices align with the principles of the circular economy and waste reduction. Regranulation is done in a single recycle screw extruder equipped with filters that remove potential small sized residuals of contaminants. Compaction of EPS prior to extrusion is made by state-of-the-art compactors.

The Circular Division is a fast-moving organisation that quickly adapt to align with the development of recycling technologies. Knowing that access to recycled material is key in the future, the Circular division in BEWI is highly prioritised and growth, both organic and through acquisitions are on the agenda.

As the technical expertise you will be involved in optimising the existing production platforms, from collection to finished product at all our entities in Europe, but also in developing and adopting new platforms.

Another important aspect of the job is to assist customers in using Circular recycled products in production of EPS and XPS.

You enjoy traveling and have a home base close to one of our production entities. English is your main working language.

Accountability

Drive technical implementation projects for internal production as well as supporting customers with using rGPPS. Improve production efficiency within Circular in order to ensure a cost effective and reliable production process from collection to finished product.

Main areas of responsibility

• Be a part of the technical development strategy and tactics for rPS extrusion technology together with division lead and local MDs
• Support customers regarding consumption of rGPPS
• Implementation of Global maintenance system to ensure high reliability of extruders internally.
• Global technical customer support for compacting technologies
• Project management
• Be a part of establishing collection / compaction locations in Europe
• Benchmarking of production processes, find and introduce best practices
• Maintain good relationships with Circular directors and co-workers to ensure effective co-ordination of all company activities within the area of expertise

Profile

• Relevant engineering degree or other professional qualifications
• Experience in driving performance and implementation of systems in a cross-cultural and global environment
• Maintenance management
• Project management skills
• Excellent communicator and interpersonal abilities
• Structured approach and good problem solving capabilities
• Good decision making skills
• Experience in extrusion technology is preferred
