BEWI’s New Upstand Board Brings Benefits for Roofing Projects
The latest roofing product from BEWI is a new Upstand Board. This new product offers a number of benefits for roofing projects, being designed to deliver thermal insulation for upstands in flat roof constructions, as commonly used in inverted roof systems.
BEWI Upstand Board is manufactured from mineral wool insulation, factory-bonded to an external-grade, high-impact fibre-cement facing board. The product is engineered to ensure durability and provide a robust, weather-resistant, and impact-resistant finish.
It can be used to provide non-combustible thermal insulation up to and across compartment walls, for low level inverted roof parapet upstands, which meet standard thermal break requirements.
“We are confident the new Upstand Board will become a popular feature on flat roofing sites on account of its benefits,” says Jim Meagher, Group Business Development Manager.
“These include its low thermal conductivity which provides a thermal break at the base of the upstand and for perimeter walls on a flat roof. It is compatible with most flat roof waterproofing systems and provides Euroclass A2-s1,d0 for buildings up to and over 11m high.”
