BEWI supports renewed ICF push with new UK manufacturing capability

BEWI, the market leader in developing insulation and construction solutions for foundations, walls and roofs, is announcing a major push into the growing Insulated Concrete Formwork (ICF) market in the UK.

As increasing attention turns to improving the thermal efficiency of the UK housing stock, ICF which offers massive benefits in terms of improved thermal insulation, reduced heat loss, better acoustic performance, ease and speed of build and many other benefits, is now viewed as an excellent construction solution for many housing projects.

Early October saw an exciting development at BEWI with the opening of a new production line dedicated to ICF manufacture at Ford in Hampshire. This new capability allows the company to manufacture Thermomur® ICF blocks in the UK for the first time, enabling it to respond rapidly and flexibly to growing customer demand for ICF building solutions.

“This is a fantastic milestone for the Ford team and an important step in growing our ICF offering here in the UK. Starting production locally gives us the capability to support customers, whilst strengthening our manufacturing footprint. It’s great to see the hard work of the team come together to make this happen, and I’m excited about the opportunities this creates,” says John Cooper, Managing Director.

Coinciding with the opening of the new manufacturing facility, BEWI is also delighted to announce that it has appointed Jean-Marc Bouvier to head up the ICF business in the UK. Jean-Marc joins BEWI with an illustrious track record in the ICF sector, having previously worked for Nudura as Director of Sales & Business Development. In that role he was single-handedly responsible for developing multiple overseas markets for the brand, including the UK. He has also worked for ICF Build Ireland, Tremco and, most recently, Ecowall ICF. Along with Technical Director, Stephen Broadhurst, Jean-Marc will be responsible for further developing the ICF business in the UK, supported by the additional capacity, made possible by the new Ford manufacturing line.

“This is an exciting time in my career to be joining BEWI, as I worked with Nudura for 20 years, and have been in the industry since 1990,” says Jean-Marc Bouvier. “With the current investment in manufacturing and marketing support, the company’s aspirations for the UK market are clear for all to see and I am delighted to be part of this new ICF campaign. I look forward to speaking to customers old and new, and no doubt renewing some acquaintances from my own past roles in this industry!”
