‘Women shape their future in EPS. And change it for the better‘
We are much more than suppliers. We stand beside our customers and really think in their best interests.

I work in a technical industry still largely dominated by men —chemicals, plastics, and industrial processes. That’s exactly why I believe the presence of women in sales in this environment is not only necessary, but truly valuable.

Women bring a different quality to the team —a fresh perspective, greater attentiveness, and strong listening skills, which are absolutely critical in sales. Women often have well-developed communication skills —they know how to express expectations clearly, articulate product value precisely, and lead negotiations with more diplomacy and flexibility. These traits make it easier to close deals and build lasting relationships with clients, especially in technical industries where the barrier of specialized language can be high.

Women have a natural talent for building relationships

I often hear that women have a natural talent for building relationships —and I fully agree. In B2B sales, where trust and long-term cooperation are key, empathy, patience, and attentiveness cannot be overstated. A woman who truly listens to the client can often identify their needs more quickly —even the ones they haven’t fully articulated yet.

I also know that in this field, a woman has to be exceptionally well prepared. It’s a demanding, often technical environment, and good communication alone isn’t enough. You need to know your products, understand the processes, and speak the client’s language. Many women —myself included —put in a great deal of work to be knowledgeable, precise, and simply effective. Sometimes it feels like we need to prove our competence more than our male colleagues. But that drive also makes us incredibly well prepared and deeply committed.

‘Women stand out in this environment. They add a fresh perspective, greater attentiveness, and strong listening skills.’

Everyone’s own expertise

Interestingly, our very presence can be an asset. In a male-dominated environment, a female sales professional can stand out —not just visually, but through her approach, communication style, and adaptability. That doesn’t mean we need to be “different for the sake of being different.” It’s about authenticity, professionalism, and strong collaboration —regardless of gender, but with full awareness of what a woman can uniquely contribute to this kind of industry.

Companies that genuinely invest in diversity within their sales teams gain more than just balance. They gain effectiveness, a healthier work culture, and a broader view of the customer. Women don’t just succeed in technical sales —they shape it. And they’re changing it for the better.
