BEWi has since it’s beginning in 1980 focused on packaging and building insulation.
During the first 10 years the main production and deliveries was nutritional packaging for the Norwegian fishing industry. 2006 BEWi decides to expand into Sweden and expand the business of building insulation and this by buying the company Genevad AB.
In 2012-2013 BEWi carried out further acquisitions to strengthen its position in the Swedish market. 2014 will be a merger with Styrochem Oy, which means that we now have the entire chain, from raw material to finished product within the group. At the same time BEWi also acquired DS Smith EPS / EPP operations in Sweden and Denmark and BEWI Group formed.
1972. Stymer (later StyroChem) starts producing EPS.
1980. BEWi is founded to produce food packaging and products for construction insulation.
1981. Neste Chemicals aquires Stymer.
2000. StyroChem becomes the leading manufacturer of EPS in Europe.
2006. BEWi establishes in Sweden by aquiring Genevad.
2007. StyroChem aquires Eqvitec.
2011. Verdane aquires StyroChem.
2012. Aquisition of Thermisol SE with factories in Norrtälje and Vårgårda.
2013. Aquisition of factory in Dorotea.
2014. Merging of BEWi and StyroChem to BEWi Group and aquisition of SCA packaging units.
2015. Integration and efficiency of new and existing units.
2016. Acquisition of XPS manufacturer M-plastic in Kaavi, Finland.
2017. Acquisition of Por-Pac in Lindesberg.
2017. BEWi aquires the majority of Solupak.
